Waking up Spillikins.com
The spillikins.com website has been slumbering for a long time.
Moving on from the old PHP and javascript frameworks used for the website we’ll give Jekyll with the Chripy theme a bash. Against older technologies the static html page generation and markdown content preparation are perceieved benefits. Realistically I’ll accept there will a learning curve to overcome.
Based on this framework the following features need to be addressed:
add static pages for the helpdesk content- make the tagline in the sidebar a link that clicks through to /helpdesk/abount-us
add helpdesk a a link in the sidebar- expand breadcrumb path in static pages to full folder hierarchy
- link footer copyright message to /heldpesk/policies/copyright-statement
- verify the website does not generate/use any cookies
- replace Lorum Ipsum placeholder text in static pages with production text
- change date coding style to UK format
- resolve missing author in post info line
- make external links open up in new web browser page
- determine why no categorisation of static pages takes place whilst it works for post type content
- change site artwork to Spillikins.com brand images
Not the Chirpy theme is stored in c:/ruby33-x64/lib/ruby/gems/3.3.0/gems/jekyll-theme-chirpy-6.6.5.
